Quality Management in Health



Quality of health services has been an important issue in Tanzania for many years. Particularly, the classical tools of quality assurance like supervision, data collection and data analysis as well as training of health workers have been further developed.

The MoH however has not yet defined a clear quality improvement policy incorporating new concepts of quality improvement like quality management, accreditation or a modern self - assessment tools. But the ministry is strongly interested in these topics and first steps - supported by TGPSH - have been done to come up with a new quality-in health - concept, which combines classical tools with modern ones in order to respond actively to the growing demand of the population for better health services.
